DROWNED

The drowning season, which was inaugurated about a month ago, is progressing finely, the average number of deaths in this way in Newport and Covington being about three a week.

The last victim was Thomas Mulloy, a boy aged about eight years, a son of James Mulloy, who works at Swift's rolling mill.  The lad, while playing on a raft of logs in the Licking River, near Livezey's saw mill, about seven o'clock on Tuesday evening, accidentally fell in the water and was drowned.  The body was recovered yesterday about noon.
