NEWPORT

A PIONEER GONE-Thomas Morrow, a pioneer and good citizen, died at home on Saratoga street yesterday in the ninety-seventh year of his age. The deceased was born in that blessed little isle of Erin and at the age of fourteen years he went to England, where he remained until the time of his marriage.

In 1831 he came to this country and settled in Philadelphia, where he remained until the year 1845, when he came to this section of the country and has resided here ever since. He has never been sick a day for the past sixty years and the immediate cause of his death was general debility. He was able to do a fair day's work until the past two weeks and was noted for his wonderful vitality. He was an honest man and respected by those who knew him.

He wife died several years since and he leaves one son to mourn his loss, Mr. John Morrow. His funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon from his late residence on Saratoga street.
