Thomas McDonald was born March 1855 and married in 1876 Sarah Margaret Hedger who was born March 1856 in Carthage, the daughter of James Perry Hedger and Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson. Thomas was a dairyman and operator on the first Ft. Thomas Bus line. The bus line went from Highlands following Campbell County Turnpike (now Alexandria Pike) to Newport and returning east on Highland Avenue to Shaw Corner (Southwest corner South Ft. Thomas & Highland Ave.) then south Ft. Thomas Ave to Grandview.

1. James Edmond-born July 1877. a graduate of the
Highland High School in 1891; was a Major of the Tenth Infantry in Ft. Thomas.
November 11, 1922 delivered an inspiring address in commemoration of Armistice
Day before the students of the high school.
2. Julia Etta-born 8 Feb 1879, graduate Highland High School 21 June 1895.

parents in Evergreen Cemetery, Section 10, Lot 45.
