NEWPORT
Thomas Johnson, a river man had some difficulty last evening at
the Turner's Hall, in this city, about some money he offered and during the
fight that ensued, he was stabbed twice between the ribs and once in the
abdomen, by an unknown person or persons. It is feared the wounds will prove
mortal.
