PIONEER
Thomas Jenkins, 79, a pioneer citizen of Campbell County, who for
many years kept a blacksmith shop on the Alexandria Turnpike, about three miles
south of Newport, and was widely known throughout the county, died Wednesday at
the home of his son, John Jenkins, at Brent Station on the Chesapeake & Ohio
Railroad, after a long illness.
Three sons and two married daughters survive him. His funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at the Licking Valley Baptist Church at Cold Spring.
