The fight over securing the contract for shoeing the horses and mules at the Fort Thomas military post has ended and the Master Horseshoer's Association is the victor. Bids for the work were received by Lieutenant Quartermaster Morton and forwarded to the Quartermaster General at Washington.

Purser Bros. members of the Master Horsehoers' Association, bid as directed by the association $1.75 for four shoes and apro rate reduction for all less than four. William Beard, a non-member of the association bid on a basis of $1.40 all around.

Yesterday Lieutenant Morton notified Purser Bros. that their bid, the highest submitted, had been accepted.
