In One Grave They Were Buried
Mother and Infant Laid to Rest in St. Stephen's Cemetery
Unusually Sad Obsequies Were Largely Attended at Church and Grave

A double funeral, the burial of a mother and her infant daughter in one grave, was an unusual sight witnessed in Newport this morning.  Monday night Mrs. Theo Bush, wife of a well-known barber of that same name, residing at 227 West Ninth-st. died of tuberculosis.  Just 24 hours later to the hour her infant child, aged 2 months, passed away.  Arrangements for the funeral were made and both were placed in one casket, the babe lying in its mother's arms.  The funeral services were held this morning at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

The unusual spectacle of a double funeral, with unusually sad features, attracted a large attendance and also at the grave in St. Stephen's Cemetery, where the interment took place.  Friends sent many floral emblems, which were placed on the casket as it was lowered into the grave.
