COLORED SCHOOL EXERCISES
The commencement of the colored school in Newport was a big
success, and the Park Avenue Hall was crowded to the doors Friday night. The
program rendered was excellent and was appreciated by the audience, and many
compliments were bestowed on the principal, Charles Horner. There was only one
graduate, Miss Ethel Horner, and she received a teacher's certificate (two
years).
