Sophia Hensing, Newport, who was so cruelly beaten by her father night before last, had the wounds in her head dressed yesterday by Dr. Dameron. One of the wounds is a very severe one and fully three inches in length and laid the scalp open to the bone.
On being released last evening, he furnishing the required bond, he visited the residence of Mrs. Morton, where his daughter is employed and begged her to withdraw the suit, but she refused in the most positive manner. The neighbors who helped care for the girl, made it so hot for him that he was glad to vacate the and that in haste. His daughter threatens after the present case is disposed of to swear out a warrant to have him bound over to keep the peace.
