Dr. Shaler Berry, former state legislator, was seriously ill
Tuesday at his home, 101 Taylor av. Ft Thomas. Berry's condition was reported to
be slightly improved by Dr. Clay Crawford, attending physician.

Funeral rites for Dr. Shaler Berry, 57 years old, who died at his home 101 Taylor avenue, Ft Thomas, Ky. yesterday morning will be conducted at St Paul Episcopal Church, Court place, Newport at 2 pm tomorrow afternoon. Rev Frank E Cooley, rector is to officiate. Burial will be to Evergreen Cemetery.
Dr. Berry's death followed an illness extending over several months which originally was contracted in overseas duties as Major of the Ambulance Corps, in the World War. He has virtually been under medical treatment ever since the war. Dr. Shaler was the son of Congressman Albert S Berry and Mrs. Anna Shaler, who was a sister of the late Nathaniel R Shaler, former dean of the Lawrence Scientific School at Harvard Univeristy.
Dr. Berry served a term as a member of the Kentucky Legislature from Campbell County and was a candidate for State Senator at the last election. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Blanch H Berry, two brothers, Commander Robert L Berry, United State Navy and Albert Berry, Cincinnati and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Nunn, who resides in Italy and Mrs. Anna Hill, Ft Thomas, who is now touring Europe.
Newport Lodge of Elks will meet tonight at their home at 7:30 pm and proceed to the home of Dr. Berry to hold services.
