Alexandria Court Order Book 4, page 190, 27 June 1836

On Motion of George Fisher, it is ordered that Jesse Yelton, Samuel D Taylor, John M Foster & Thomas Logan, or any 3 being sworn do view an alteration in the road commencing at the Washington Trace at or near the County line to intersect the road passing near Mrs. Shaw's, the alteration to commence at the West line of said Fishers land to intersect the said road at the most suitable point after passing through his plantation and report the Conveniences and inconveniences &c.
