DEATH OF SAMUEL MORLIDGE
This venerable and esteemed citizen died at his home on York
street, near Ringgold, early yesterday morning from dropsy. The deceased was
born in Walnut Hills, back of Cincinnati, in the year 1828 and came to this town
when quite young, and learned the butcher trade, which occupation he followed
until the past few years of his life.
During his life he has filled a number of offices of trust and honor with a record highly honorable and creditable. Hew as a Mason of high standing and that Society will attend his funeral in a body which takes place tomorrow.
He leaves a widow and three children to mourn his loss. By his death Newport has lost an honored citizen.
