Samuel Gander, who keeps a tavern on the River Road, near Silver Grove, about six miles south of Newport, Saturday received a telegram from Lakeland Ky. that his son, Albert, 38, who was sent to the asylum at that place a short time ago, had died Friday night. The remains were brought here for burial.

Samuel O Gander, 82, died yesterday at his home in Brent Ky. The funeral was held this afternoon. Burial in Cold Spring Cemetery.

Page 8-Samuel Gander, who is said to have been one of the oldest Government employees in this section of the country, died yesterday at his home near Brent, Ky. Gander who was nearly 85 years old, had been engaged in tending the signal lights along the river for many years.

He is survived by a widow and several children. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
