Samuel Maxwell, of Fourth and Walnut sts. Dayton, a GAR veteran and one of the oldest in Campbell co. will celebrate his eightieth birthday anniversary Saturday. He was born in Newport and has been a resident of Campbell co. all of his life.

Samuel H Maxwell, 86, pioneer resident of Newport and Campbell co. will be buried Saturday afternoon. The funeral will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Griffith, Fourth and Walnut streets, Dayton Ky. at 2:30 pm. Maxwell died Thursday at his daughter's home.
He was a member of the first fire department organized in Newport and a veteran of the Civil War. He was born in Newport and lived all his life in Campbell co. Besides his daughter, he is survived by three sons, John Maxwell, Southgate; Charles N Maxwell, Newport and Samuel Maxwell Jr. Kennedy Heights O.
