NEWPORT

The last sad tribute due the dead will be paid to Rufus S Lee, Esq. this morning at ten o'clock at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. E P Bennett, No 225 York street. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev Mr. Pettis, rector of St. Paul P E Church and the following gentlemen will be act as pall bearers:

Messrs. Paris C Brown, Frank Zost, Isaac Fuller, G Antenheimer, Mrs. Sanborn, Mr. Laird, Mr. Kennecutt and Mr. Joseph Andrews.

His remains will be placed in the vault at Evergreen Cemetery, where they will remain until the return of Mr. Bennett from Europe. He sailed last Saturday and a cable gram has been sent him relating the said and sudden death of his father-in-law.

The deceased was a noble gentleman and possessed many fine traits of character. he was born near Watertown Mass. sixty-one years ago and was married in the East. His wife died several years since. His only child is Mr. E P Bennett. At the time of his death he was a partner of Mr. Norton and the firm were in the machine business on the corner of Second and Elm streets in Cincinnati.

He visited his daughter last Sunday for the purpose of bringing her some information concerning the departure of her husband when he was taken suddenly ill. She did all in her power to save him, but unfortunately it was beyond her power or medical science. His life was insured in several companies.
