WALKING ON TRACKS-Ruby Dameron, 13, daughter of Henry Dameron, who is employed at Allen's coal yard, was perhaps fatally injured by an incoming C&O passenger train at the head of Washington Avenue, Newport, Wednesday at 5:30 pm. The little girl resides at Eleventh and Monmouth Streets and went to meet and accompany her father home from his day's work. She walked along the railroad tracks. She failed to notice the approaching train on account of a sharp curve near where the accident occurred.

She was struck a glancing blow and was hurled some distance. The train stopped as soon as possible and the trainmen carried her to the depot at the head of Monmouth Street. Drs. Zimmerman, Brown and Digby attended her. Her nose was badly mashed besides a serious concussion of the brain, which may prove fatal.
