DAYTON SOLDIER ACTS AS FIELD JUDGE-Word received here disclosed that Maj. Roy F Pille, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward H Pille, of 315 Fifth avenue, Dayton, has served as a field judge in the Allied track and field championsips of the Mediterranean and North African theater of operations which were held July 15 and 16 in Rome, Italy. Maj. Pille joined the service in January 1941, after being given a leave of absence as athletic director and assistant coach at Dayton High School.

He was sent overseas on Christmas Day, 1943. He has seen service in the Italian campaign since its beginning and is now stationed in Rome.
