RIVER VICTIM
The body of Rosella, the 2 year old daughter of William Deimel,
of 517 West Ninth st. Newport, who with her mother and two sisters were drowned
in the Licking River last Monday, was recovered yesterday at the foot of Eighth
st. The finding of the body makes a total of three of the victims bodies that
have been recovered. The bodies of the mother, Mary Deimel and Ethel were
recovered Thursday in the Ohio River. Only one remains in the river, that of
Marie, the 13 year old daughter.
The body was recovered at the foot of Eighth st. by Sam Mains, who was fishing from the barges when it appeared on the top of the water. The body was taken to shore and Coroner James Digby notified. Dr. Digby ordered it removed to Radel's undertaking establishment.
Owing to the bad condition of the body, the funeral was held immediately with services in Radel's chapel. Interment was made in St Joseph Cemetery at Johns Hill.
