Ronald L. Murphy, 51, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Newport, died Thursday at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He was a highway engineer with the Kentucky Highway Department.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Lombardo Murphy; daughters, Kristina Murphy and Kimberly Murphy, both of Elizabethtown; his mother and stepfather, Viola and Elmer Young of Newport; a sister, Dianna Fairchild of Drummond Island, Mich.; a stepbrother, Elmer Young Jr. of Park Hills; and stepsisters, Shirley Turner of Harrodsburg and Helen Young of Newport.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
