Services for First Lt. Robert L Stricker, 20, bombardier, killed in action when his plane was shot down over Vienna, Austria, Feb 13, 1945, will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Radel funeral home, Newport. burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stricker Sr. 1123 Columbia street, Newport. He enlisted Oct 7, 1942, and had served seven months overseas with the 15th Air Force. He was shot down on his 39th mission. He was decorated with the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Purple Heart and Presidential Citation. He was graduated from Newport High School and was a member of the Young People's Society of Bethany Lutheran Church, Covington.

Besides his parents he leaves three brothers, Clarence Jr. Raymond and Jerome Stricker and a sister, Miss Rose Mary Stricker, all of Newport. Three organizations will hold services for the flier Sunday at the funeral home. They are: Gold Star Mothers at 7:30 pm. James Wallace Cositgan Post, American Legion at 8 pm and Rankin-Prout-Carius Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars at 8:30 pm.
