The body of Pvt. Robert F Skaggs, who was killed in an accident at Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo. was en route Monday to Newport for funeral services and burial. Pvt. Skaggs according to word received Sunday by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Oliver F Skaggs, 1041 S Ft Thomas avenue, Ft Thomas, was killed while on duty, but no details of the accident were revealed.

He had been stationed at Camp Carson for several months as a member of the Army Transportation Corps. Born in Cincinnati, Pvt. Skaggs lived most of his life in Ft Thomas. He attended Highland High School three years. Prior to his induction into the Army six months ago, he was employed as a driver for the Hiland Cab Company.

Military funeral services for Pvt. Robert F Skaggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver F Skaggs, 1040 S Ft Thomas avenue, Ft Thomas, who was killed in an accident while on duty at Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Col. will be held at the John J Radel funeral home, Newport at 2 pm Thursday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
