ATTEMPT AT SUICIDE-Robert Boyd, a private soldier at the Newport
Barracks, who has been on a "spree" for several days past, attempted to commit
suicide on Wednesday night, by jumping from the second story window of his
quarters to the ground, a distance of about thirty feet.
The fall injured him so severely that it is feared he cannot recover.
