Cadet Robert L Berry, youngest son of Congressman A S Berry, of Newport, left Thursday for Annapolis Md. to resume his studies at the United States Naval Academy. Cadet Berry will graduate next June.

Ensign Robert Berry, United States Navy, a son of Circuit Judge A S Berry, has contributed a very interesting article to Leslie's Weekly, the title of which is "The Little Torpedo Boats Great Power in War." Ensign Berry is attached to the torpedo boat destroyer Hull and has seen of this service for some time. The information is very interesting in the view the successful naval operations at present being conducted by the Japanese with the aid of the torpedo boats and destroyers.

Circuit Judge A S Berry will not be able to deliver an address at the Alexandria Fair Sep 6, as was anticipated as he will not be able to get here until Oct 1, when the Campbell Circuit Court will convene. During the week he entertained the officers of the torpedo boat destroyer Hull, of which his son, Ensign Robert Berry is on the staff.
The Hull steamed into the harbor at Martha's Vineyard and anchored. Their reception by Col Berry was of the true Kentucky style. The judge is making extensive improvements on his place in Massachusetts.

SHORE DUTY
Lieut. Robert Berry, of the United States Navy, who came to Newport to attend the funeral of his father, Circuit Court Judge A S Berry, has gone to Washington to arrange for a spell of shore duty. He had done sea duty for eight years, ever since he left the academy.

Robert Berry, Senior Lieutenant USN with the cruiser Chicago, arrived in Newport today in response to a telegram sent him Jan 6, announcing the death of his father, Judge A S Berry. Lieut. Berry was on board the Chicago en route to Annapolis via Cape Horn when he received the news of his fathers death and he was put ashore at Sobera Cruz, the southernmost port of Mexico on the Pacific Ocean and made this trip overland to his home.
His stay in Newport is indefinite.
