PVT. Richard R Gindele, 21, husband of Mrs. Loretta Gindele, of 1042 Washington avenue, Newport and son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gindele, of the same address, is now a prisoner of the Germans, his family was notified.

Previously reported as missing in action in France since Sept 2, Pvt. Gindele entered the service in March 1943 and has been overseas a year.

Pvt. Richard Gindele is spending a 60 day furlough at his home at 1042 Washington avenue, Newport, after having been liberated from a German prison. A veteran of five major engagements, the soldier has been awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and a Purple Heart.

Pvt. Gindele is the husband of Mrs. Loretta Gindele and the father of Judith Ann, 2. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gindele, live at 1031 Washington avenue, Newport.
