Funeral services for Reuben Darnell, 90, Civil War veteran were to be conducted with full military honors at 3 pm Saturday at the Muehlenkamp, Costigan & Roll funeral home, 935 York st. Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Darnell who lived at 612 Dayton st. Newport, died Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington. He was a member of the Joe Hooker Post GAR. Only six members of the post survive him. The James Wallace Costigan Post of the American Legion will hold services at the grave.
