Raymond Schneider, 7, of 1031 John Street in Newport, was run over by a C&O freight train at 4:45 Thursday evening while trying to steal a ride. He lost both legs as a result and is in serious condition.
The lad resides hear the railroad track and slipped in trying to get on the train and fell between the cars. Several wheels passed over him before the train was stopped. He was removed to Speers Hospital where the amputation took place.
