Raymond C Allen

Kentucky Post, Friday, 4 October 1946, page 1

Raymond C Allen, 30, of 1018 York street, Newport, a disabled veteran of the Marine Corps, who tangled with two Newport patrolmen, Milton Morris and Ra Dullaghan, both veterans of World War II, following near a mishap at Seventh and York streets, was fined $45 and costs on three charges. Allen, who lost his left leg in a Pacific encounter, made a U-Turn and ignored traffic lights at Seventh and York streets. When the two officers attempted to stop the driver, the car narrowly missed them.

Later, Allen, a cab driver, struck Patrolman Dullaghan. Allen told Judge Maybury he remembered nothing of the affair, explaining he had several drinks. He was charge with reckless driving, breach of the peace and resisting arrest.
