Ralph Frank Venneman

T Sgt. Ralph F Venneman, 21, of 917 Boone street, Newport, has been awarded the Good Conduct Medal at the Eighth Air Force Bomber Station in England, where he is stationed, according to word received here. He is a radio operator on the ship, Throbbing Dobbin and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H Venneman, of the Newport address. Prior to entering the service he was an apprentice machinist for the Phillips Pump & Tank Co.

Sgt. Venneman was graduated from Newport Catholic High School in 1941 and received his gunners wings in July 1943. The Good Conduct Medal is awarded for "fidelity through faithful and exact performance of duty, conspicous efficiency and examplary behavior" during a year or more of service in the Army.
