Ralph G Tenhundfeld

Ralph Tenhundfeld, born in Bellevue, one of eight children of Mr.
and Mrs. H J Tenhundfeld. He attended Sacred Heart School, was active in
knothole baseball and played with the Little Giants. After completing elementary
school, he attended Newport Catholic High School, where he graduated in 1940.
He was inducted in the army in November 1942 and graduated from Officers Candidate School Nov 4, 1944 at Ft Benning Ga. He served with the 7th Infantry, 3rd Division, in France and was wounded at Basheim, France, Feb 9, 1945. He received the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation and the French Croix de Guerre. He was honorably discharged May 26, 1946. He operates his own fruit and vegetable business.
He is a brother of Rev Harry Tenhundfeld and Rev Paul Tenhundfeld. He belongs to the Catholic Order of Foresters, Bellevue Veterans Club, St Stephen War Vets and the Holy Name Society. He lives with his wife and four sons at 613 Oak street, Newport.
