Services for Ralph G Mussman, of 208 E Third street, Newport, a veteran of World War I and father of three sons in the armed services, will be held at 3 pm Saturday at the Vonderhaar & Stetter funeral home, Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Mussman, who was 45, died late Monday at his home following an illness of 10 months. A clerk for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad for many years, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church, American Legion and the Fathers Navy Club. Mr. Mussman served as a corporal in World War I. His three sons were stars in football and basketball at Newport High School.
He leaves his widow, Josephine Mussman; three sons, 1st Lt. Ralph Mussman, who is now serving as an instructor in Georgia after serving 18 months overseas; Cpl. James Mussman, stationed in Alaska and Seaman First Class Robert Mussman, on duty with the Coast Guard somewhere in the Pacific; his father, Robert Mussman, Cincinnati; a brother Stanley, Cincinnati and a sister, Miss Elsie Mussman, Cincinnati.
Members of the James Wallace Costigan Post, American Legion, Newport, will hold services for Mr. Mussman at 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
