"James Pribble was a Revolutionary War soldier assigned to western forts in and around Pittsburg. His job was to travel between forts spying on the British and their Indian allies who occupied the area, and to alert the Patriot units manning the forts and the local village citizens. After the war, he was given a land grant in Kentucky, and it was there he lived out his long life. He and his many descendants are buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Pendleton Co, Ky.
