Philip C Hughes, 79, pioneer resident of Campbell co.. who died at his home, 812 Washington av. Newport Tuesday, following a lingering illness will be buried Thursday after services from the residence. Rev H M Massie, pastor of ? M E Church, will ? of the services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.  Hughes was well known throughout Campbell co and was formerly caretaker of the Maple Grove ?. His widow, Mrs. Nancy Hughes and seven sons and two daughters survive him.

Mrs. Nancy Bayless Hughes, 83, widow of Philip C Hughes, Civil War veteran, died Friday at her home, 812 Washington av. Newport. Mrs. Hughes had been a resident of Newport many years. She is survived by seven sons and two daughters, George, Dayton; Edgar, Banton O. Quincy, Portsmouth O. David, Newport; Leslie, Clarence and Thad, Ft Thomas; Mrs. E D Elliott, Newport and Mrs. B F Brown, Ashland Ky; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am at the home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
