NEWPORT
ADDRESS BY COLONEL JAMES TAYLOR-We are requested to state that
Colonel James Taylor, of Newport, will address the people in Cold Spring
Precinct, at Petit's school house on Saturday next a week on the present state
of the Union.

NEWPORT
THE PEOPLE ANXIOUS TO BE ADDRESSED-The voters of the Cold Spring District in Campbell County, held an informal meeting on Saturday last at Pettit's School house to make arrangements to have Colonel James Taylor, of Newport, to address the people of that district on the subject of the dissolution of the Union.
The Rev N A Pettit, Benj. Smith, Dr. Perrin, F Wigman, S Austin, Joseph Horner, Wiley Bates and J M Dodsworth were appointed a Committee of Arrangements and immediately reported by resolutions, which were adopted.

The reunion held at the seminary in honor of the fiftieth and the founder, N C Pettit's eightieth anniversary, was largely attended and an enjoyable day passed by all present. Hon William Nelson and Rev N C Pettit addressed the assemblage. Dinner was served by the women of the Licking Baptist and Asbury M E Churches.
