WILLIAM Duddee, a young man employed on Mr. George Tippenhauer's farm, on the Licking Pike, was accidentally shot in the leg Saturday evening by a gun in the hands of a boy named Charles Guard. From what we could learn of the affair, it would seem that young Duddee went to drive home the cows, and meeting with Guard, who was in the act of placing a cap on the gun and to make it secure, using a small rock to hammer it on, the cap exploded, the contents of the gun lodging in Duddee's leg.

Dr. Peter Thornton of Cold Spring, and  Dr. R H Thornton, of his city were called in to dress the wound. It is feared the limb will have to be amputated.
