Coroporal Lawrence Schweitzer, son of George Schweitzer of
Newport, was discharged at Camp Atterbury. A brother, Pfc. Paul Schweitzer, died
of wounds received fighting on Luzon Feb 8. He had been in the Army three years
and had been awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
