DEATH


A French deck hand named PAUL LANSTERER, was drowned from the steamer Hickman, at Memphis, early on Thursday morning last. He fell overboard while assisting in hauling in the gangway plank and sank to rise no more.

He shipped here on the last down trip of the boat and leaves a wife and two or three children residing back of Newport. His effects are in charge of Captain Byers.
