Blind Veteran Passed Away – Patrick Owens was charter member of Grand Army Post.

Patrick Owens, 70, a veteran of the Civil War and a charter member of the local Grand Army post, died Friday afternoon at his residence, 224 W 8th St, Newport. Although blind, he attended every meeting of the Grand Army post up to a short time ago. He was twice chosen commander.
