NEWPORT
The annual Christmas celebration of the Campbell County
Protestant Orphans' Home will be held this afternoon and evening at the Home.
The donations this year have been generous and a good time is promised the
orphans. One of the features will be a monster Christmas tree, loaded with good
things.
The farmers of Johns Hill brought apples, potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage, etc. by the wagon load. John Hieber and Peter Young have contributed a two horse wagon load of produce. Bakers of the three cities have sent a lot of fine cakes and bread, while the butchers of Bellevue, Dayton and Newport have sent a lot of meat.
