Old Paper Found
The Kentucky Post, Tuesday, August 1, 1899, page 1
Squire Hutchinson, of Newport, has come into possession of some
old papers Tuesday. He has one dated back to 1794. The exact copy
reads:
"I promise to pay or cause to be paid to Mrs.
Keturah Leitch, the just sum of One Pounds, Eight Shillings and Sixpence lawful
money of Kentucky, for value received the 6th day of December 1794.
WILLIAM DIGBY
Attest: David Nesbitt"
Mrs. Keturah Leitch was the mother of the late Colonel James Taylor.
