Said To Have Been Struck in Campbell County
Further evidences of oil in Campbell County were discovered yesterday on the farm of Henry Higginbotham located near Grants Lick. About a month ago prospectors, after drilling to a considerable depth, struck a rich grade of illuminating oil. The find caused considerable excitement and land values in the vicinity increased considerably.
Drilling was continued by the prospectors with the result that a high grade of lubricating oil was found. The oil is worth four times the value of the illuminating quality. Yesterday's find has aroused the owners of land in the vicinity of Grants Lick and Claryville and further drills will be put down at once.

It was reported yesterday that oil had been discovered on the farm of John Yelton, Grants Lick, which coming in connection with the discovery of gas a few days ago, has caused the promoters to make additional hope. The gas flows with considerable force and is being utilized in running a gas engine.
Should other wells develop strength the gas will be piped to Newport, Covington and adjoining cities.
