Nicholas Remp

Kentucky Post, Tuesday, 18 August 1903, page 5

Nicholas Remp of 713 Dayton Street, Newport, was Monday suddenly stricken blind while crossing the L&N Bridge over the Licking River on his way to work. Remp was nearing the Covington end of the bridge and his strange actions attracted the attention of railroad employees, who led him from the bridge to a place of safety. He was later removed to his home in the patrol, where Dr. Truesdale attended him.

Some time ago Remp was operated on for a cataract and it was apparently successful but it is now feared that paralysis of the optical nerve has taken place and the affliction may be permanent.
