When the National soldiers were encamped near this city they completely destroyed the fence around our beautiful cemetery, and now the cattle of the neighborhood roam through it, mutilating the shrubbery, while hogs are rooting up the ground.
The members of the City Council certainly can not be ignorant of the condition of the cemetery. Their failure to order a fence placed around it is a mystery which many who own lots in it would like to have explained.
