We were informed by one of our carriers that a most violent death happened in Newport yesterday. Mr. George Wilson, who was engaged in hauling sand, driving a four horse team, which was drawing a very heavy load, when, as he turned to look at something which attracted his attention, the horse on which he was seated started, and threw him off. He barely had time to call our "wo" to his team when one of the wheels passed over his head, crushing the entire back portion of his skull, killing him instantly. He leaves a wife and family and many friends to mourn his loss.
