Fighting like a demon in the hands of tow Deputy Sheriffs, Nathan Roseberry of Grants Lick was brought into County Judge Hissem's court Friday morning. The frantic struggles of the man and his wild glances attracted much attention. A short time ago there was not a happier man than Roseberry.
He was wrapped up in two twin sons, who were the love of his life and the pride of his heart. Several days ago one of them was taken sick and the other also grew ill. Despite all medical attention one died and the other is not expected to live. This calamity affected Roseberry's mind and he went violently insane. About seven years ago he was shot in the eye and it slightly affected his brain. It is believed the strain brought back this trouble and caused his mind to utterly to give way.
Brandishing a razor in his hand Thursday afternoon he tried desperately to cut his throat, but neighbors prevented the rash deed and Deputy Sheriff Ratchford was notified. He and Jailer Wagner of Alexandria, undertook to take Rosenberry to jail. He fought so desperately they had to strap him into the buggy. He was examined before Judge Hissem and Dr. Crowley testified the man's mind was impaired. He was adjudged insane by a jury and ordered taken to Lakeland Asylum. Deputy Sheriff Charles Davis will take him to Lakeland Saturday morning and the task will not be a pleasant one.

Nathan Roseberry, the old man of Grants Lick and who was tried for lunacy in County Judge Hissem's court and ordered taken to Lakeland Asylum, gave the jail authorities all kinds of trouble Friday night. He is very violent and kept up an uproar in the jail all night, keeping the other prisoners awake. He imagined he was driving stock and yelled and shrieked for hours before quieting down.
Saturday morning he was taken to Lakeland by Sheriff Dan Riedel. He kept Riedel busy taking care of him en route to the depot and once pulled the Sheriff's hat off his head.
