It continued the conflict by sharing in the defense of Savannah and the campaign of the Carolinas. Colonel William C P Breckinridge, Lieutenant Colonel Robert G. Stoner, and Majors John P. Austin and William E. Jones were in command.

The suit of Nancy Tucker of Newport, against Charles Gubser for $5000 damages for personal juries was dismissed today in the Campbell Circuit Court, settled on motion of the plaintiff. In her petition the plaintiff alleged on Aug 25 last defendant negligently left a pile of sand and gravel on the east side of Washington av. between Fourth and Fifth sts. Newport, and while she was being driven along the avenue in an automobile the latter ran onto the obstruction, throwing her out, causing permanent injuries. It is understood the case was compromised.
