SAD AFFAIR-At an early hour on Friday last, Mrs. Blesche, the
wife of Michael Blesche, a well known citizen, who keeps a shoe store on the
corner of Monmouth and Harris streets, left home for purpose, it is supposed, of
going to see some relatives a short distance from the city.
Her conduct while preparing to leave was somewhat strange, though it did not excite much attention. Not returning on Friday evening, some uneasiness began to be felt for her safety, and her husband, accompanied by a number of friends went in search of her. Every place where she was in the habit of going was visited, without success. The same day the body of an unknown woman was found floating in the Ohio River, opposite West Covington. The Coroner held an inquest on it, after which it was buried, no one appearing to claim it.
A description of deceased was published in this paper, which led Mr. Blesche to suppose that the body was that of his wife. Accordingly he went to the Coroner, who had the body exhumed, when the suspicions of Mr. Blesche were fully verified. it was supposed that Mrs. Blesche drowned herself while laboring under aberration of mind. She was a most estimable women and her untimely death is a most unfortunate affair.
