Milton Cooke

Kentucky Post, Monday, 28 May 1906, page 5

Milton Cooke, 53, died yesterday after a brief illness, at his home, 13 West Fifth st. Newport. He had been ailing for several days, due to worry over his mother's illness. Since Saturday night his mind had wandered and yesterday afternoon Dr. Heflia noticed he was sinking rapidly. Heroic measures were adopted but in spite of this Cooke never rallied and about 4:30 passed away. He was born in Pittsburg but for 28 years had resided in Newport.

He took an active interest in the welfare of the Amalgamated Iron and Steel workers, of which he was a member and at one time Vice President. He was also a member of the Newport Lodge of Elks. One son survives him. The funeral will be held at 2 pm. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery.
