CAUGHT-Constable Chic Brooker, Monday in Newport, arrested Millard Niles, an alleged deserter from B Company, Twenty-first Infantry. Niles, it is claimed left Ft Snelling Minn. March 23, 1903 and came to Newport. Brooker turned him over to the military authorities at Ft Thomas.

VICTIM DIES-Millard Niles, who was burned by the explosion of a gasoline stove a short time ago, died yesterday at Speers Hospital. He attempted to light the stove while the gasoline was flowing from the tank. An explosion followed and he was badly burned about the side, hands and arms. The deceased was 45 years of age. The remains were removed to his late home. 417 West Fifth St. Newport.

I desire to thank you for your promptness in settling this claim and I also desire to say that although this policy has been in force since June 17, not quite four months, your company has paid me the full $200, as your policies are in Full Immediate Benefit from date of issue and this provision should be considered by all those desiring insurances, as no other company doing business in this State issues a policy of this king.
