First Sgt. Millard Ard, retired Army man, died Monday night at the Ft Thomas Post Hospital at the age of 66. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War and World War I, and also served in the Philippines and Alaska. He had been in the service 30 years at the time of his retirement.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Mary W Ard, Alexandria; four sons, Pfc. Maryland Ard, now overseas, and James G Ard, Newport and Calin and Floyd Ard, Alexandria; three daughters, Florence and Daisy, Alexandria and Mary of Ft Thomas, and two brothers and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Radel funeral home, Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
