Mike Feeny, at one time a Cincinnati fireman, is at Speers Hospital suffering from a bullet wound in his left foot. Feeny has been living in Newport for a number of years and is well known along York st. Yesterday he fell in with a crowd in a saloon in the "bottoms" and according to the story told the police, a man who had been drinking ordered Feeny to dance.
He failed to comply with the command and the fellow fired in the direction of his feet, the bullet taking effect. Feeny wandered about the streets until the police came across him and sent him to the hospital. The Newport police are investigating.
